Daily devotion – when the book are opened…

Pastor Keith   -

Psalm 139:16 Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed. And in Your book they all were written, The days fashioned for me, When as yet there were none of them.

On my desk shortly to be filed on a bookshelf for later reference is my 2024 diary. All the appointments, decisions, challenges were journaled and logged within its pages over the last year. A complete record of 2024.

As I look at it, I am reminded that there is a far superior, more detailed and precise copy of all this information and more, not only of 2024, the year passed, but everything of my life since my heart began its first beat.

Rev 20:12
And I saw the dead, great and small, taking their places before the high seat; and the books were open, and another book was open, which is the book of life; and the dead were judged by the things which were in the books, even by their works.

How amazing will it be when we get to glory and these books, our books, are opened!

There is nothing hid from the eyes of the Lord – nothing!

Knowing this creates in me a definite desire to ensure that the things that are written down about my life, every thought, word and deed, is to be to the glory of God.

This New Year God gives you a blank script, a new canvas, on which to write down your life lived for His glory and praise.

Let us therefore seize this moment, this year, to ensure that what is written down, fits in with what God had planned for us – His good works.

Eph 2:10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.
