Daily devotion – Man’s greatest need resulted in man’s greatest gift!
The Greatest Gift – Salvation in Christ
📖 Romans 1:18-23
“For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness…”
The Bible declares that mankind’s greatest need is salvation, because mankind’s greatest curse is sin. In response to this, God gave us the Gospel—our divine rescue.
The very presence of the Gospel is proof that we need it. If humanity had no sin problem, there would be no need for a Saviour. But just as sickness confirms the need for a physician, so sin confirms our desperate need for Christ.
God’s Righteousness vs. Man’s Unrighteousness
The Gospel is not a human invention—it is God’s response to the world’s unrighteousness.
If God has revealed His righteousness, it is because man has demonstrated his unrighteousness.
If God has sent His Son, it is because the world has revealed its sin.
If there is a Saviour, it is because there is a need for salvation.
Salvation Comes from Faith, Not Works
📖 Romans 1:17
“For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, ‘The just shall live by faith.’”
The Gospel teaches us that salvation does not come from man’s righteousness, but from God’s righteousness. It is not something we achieve through good works, but something we receive by faith.
Unlike human knowledge that is developed through education or scientific discovery, salvation is not something man figured out over time. Instead, it came as a sudden burst of divine light—a revelation from God Himself.
Jesus Christ – The Revelation of God’s Righteousness
📖 John 1:6-14
“That was the true Light which gives light to every man… But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God.”
The righteousness of God is not revealed through astronomy, philosophy, or science—it is revealed in the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
The Gospel is not just a set of rules, a plan, or a religious idea.
The Gospel is a Person—Jesus Christ, the Son of God.
God not only explains righteousness in the Scriptures—He demonstrates it through His Son!
📖 John 3:16
“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”
Have You Received the Greatest Gift?
