Daily devotion – Service for God

Pastor Keith   -

Romans 1:9 For God is my witness, whom I serve with my spirit in the gospel of his Son, that without ceasing I make mention of you always in my prayers;

For many Church is a place attended for a little over an hour and half on most Sunday mornings. With little interaction or contact with others. But for a follower of Christ, Church is the body of Christ of which those who have been redeemed by Christ’s death and Resurrection consider themselves a valuable and working part of that body, playing an important part in the overall functioning of the body of Christ at large.

A religion that is based upon faith must be proved by its life. James put it this way – Jas 2:14 “What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him? Jas 2:18
Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works.”

Christian character must be demonstrated in Christian conduct. Worship must be followed by work.

What justification have you given to your faith since you believed?

The world watchers and waits for your works as much as God looks for your faith.

The Apostle Paul, the servant of God, was a man of purpose. He was not as many have become today,  a casual acquaintance who have no recognition of the fields being white and ready for harvest – souls ready and hungry for grace!

It is a good thing to as they say, “plan your work and then work your plan”. It is a good thing to have some purpose in your life. But it is a godly focus that will change your life from that of a Church consumer to a selfless server.

Today, take time with Bible in hand, lay out your daily planner, your month or weekly schedule and write in today where you may bring a blessing to the body of Christ using the gift or gifts that God has made available to you since salvation.

Jhn 4:35 Say not ye, There are yet four months, and then cometh harvest? behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest.

The fields are ripe, harvest time is ready, but the labourers are few.

Today you can become one of the few!
