Daily devotion – what happens when you pray.
A Life of Prayer and Fruitfulness
📖 Romans 1:11-13
“For I long to see you, that I may impart to you some spiritual gift, so that you may be established— that is, that I may be encouraged together with you by the mutual faith both of you and me. Now I do not want you to be unaware, brethren, that I often planned to come to you (but was hindered until now), that I might have some fruit among you also, just as among the other Gentiles.”
Prayer will always lead us to a less selfish life. Paul not only prayed, but he also put his prayers into action. He made himself available as an instrument through which God could answer those prayers.
Paul saw his visit to the Romans as an opportunity to give—to impart a spiritual gift and encourage them in their faith. Because Paul was a man of prayer, he was also a man of blessing, constantly seeking ways to edify others.
How often has God placed someone on your heart during prayer? True Christian faith naturally leads to Christian fellowship:
📖 1 John 2:9-11
“If anyone claims, ‘I am living in the light,’ but hates a Christian brother or sister, that person is still living in darkness… Anyone who loves another brother or sister is living in the light and does not cause others to stumble.”
This week, as you go to prayer, keep a pen and paper nearby. As you worship and seek the Lord, He will lay people on your heart—those He desires you to pray for and bless personally.
Another reason we pray is to bear fruit for the Kingdom of God. Prayer lays the foundation for a fruitful life:
📖 Romans 1:13
“That I might have some fruit among you also, just as among the other Gentiles.”
A life of faith must also be a fruitful life—faith leads to fruit!
In 2025, may your prayer life deepen, and as a result, may you be used by God to bless others, impart spiritual gifts, and bear much fruit for His glory! 🍇
