Daily devotion – temptation

“Victory Over Temptation”
đź“– 1 Corinthians 10:13
“There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.”

This week, Satan will try again to tempt you—to make you stumble, doubt, or fall. But temptation itself is not sin.

Everyone is tempted. Even Jesus was tempted in the wilderness. The difference is in our response.

The devil cannot tempt beyond what God allows, and God always provides a way of escape. The sin comes when we yield to temptation instead of seeking God’s strength to overcome it.

So when temptation comes, let’s follow Jesus’ example:

Jesus did not argue with Satan.
Jesus did not rationalize or entertain the temptation.
Instead, Jesus responded with “It is written…”
Jesus used God’s Word as His weapon. And so should we!

đź“– Ephesians 6:17
“And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.”

The Word of God is our sword against temptation. This week, hold fast to it—don’t turn to the right or the left.

Let God’s Word be your strength, your shield, and your victory!

🙏 Prayer:
Lord, help me to stand firm against temptation this week. Fill my heart with Your Word, and give me the strength to resist the enemy. May I trust in Your power and always choose the path that honors You. Amen.

Are you ready to face temptation armed with the Word?
