Daily devotion – The last shadow.
I fondly remember the old cartoon strips featuring a man holding a sign that read, “The End is Nigh!”
While once used humorously, those words now ring truer than ever—for our world, it is later than we think.
In ancient times, people told time using a sundial, where the sun’s position would cast a shadow, revealing the hour of the day.
Today, as Christians, we still have a sundial—but ours is the Word of God. From Genesis to Revelation, the Bible sounds a warning:
⏳ “It’s later than you think!”
Paul wrote with urgency in his time, and his words are even more relevant today:
📖 Romans 13:11-12
“It is already the hour for you to awaken from sleep; for now salvation is nearer to us than when we believed. The night is almost gone, and the day is at hand. Let us therefore lay aside the deeds of darkness and put on the armour of light.”
We must take heed of this warning. We are called to live each day as if it were our last—because one day, it will be.
The sundial of time will one day cast its final shadow over our lives.
Are you ready?
🙏 I pray that we all wake up, put on the armour of light, and live with urgency for Christ!
