Daily devotion – The truth about life after death.
John 11:25-26 – Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?”
One of the greatest fears humanity faces is death—the unknown of what lies beyond. But for those who believe in Jesus Christ, death is not the end; it is the doorway to eternal life.
On that first Easter morning, something happened that had never occurred before in human history—and will never happen again: Jesus rose from the dead, never to die again! His resurrection is the proof that there is life beyond the grave and that our hope is not in this world alone.
The Bible makes it clear: after death, there are only two destinations—Heaven or Hell. Hell, a place of utter darkness and Heaven a place of endless joy! Jesus’ resurrection opened the way to Heaven for all who put their trust in Him. His victory over death removes its sting for believers, securing for us an eternity in God’s presence.
This is the truth of the Gospel: “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” (John 14:6)
The question Jesus asked Martha in John 11:26 is the same question for each of us today: Do you believe this?
For those who do, the promise is clear—though our bodies may die, we will live eternally with Him. Because He lives, we too shall live!
1Co 15:55 “O Death, where is your sting? O Hades, where is your victory?”
Heavenly Father, thank You for the victory over death that is ours through Jesus Christ. Because He lives, I have hope beyond the grave. Strengthen my faith, and help me to share this truth with others who need the assurance of eternal life. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
