What’s On This Week – 27th April 2025
Welcome to Calvary Chapel Secret Harbour! We’re so glad to have you with us today. What a wonderful Easter we just celebrated — lives were changed, and many drew closer to Christ! Looking ahead, Easter 2026 will include Holy Communion during our Good Friday service, along with some additional blessings planned for Easter Sunday. Today, we return to our regular service schedule. On Sunday mornings and Wednesday evenings, we are studying the book of Colossians. Tonight, Pastor Israel will continue his series through 1 Corinthians, covering some very interesting and highly relevant topics. We encourage you to be part of every service and to read ahead so you can stay grounded in the rich doctrinal truths that are vital for us in these Last Days.
Upcoming: Next Sunday, May 4th — We will share in Communion during the evening service. Please plan to join us around the Lord’s table as a family.
Calvary Kids and Calvary Youth — Both ministries resume their regular schedule this Friday here at the chapel. We encourage every child and young person to be involved in these blessed ministries.
Calvary Women — Our next Tuesday morning study will be held on Tuesday, May 6th at 9:30 am. Be sure to mark your calendars and set reminders so you won’t miss this precious time of fellowship with other godly women.
We look forward to all the Lord has for us as we continue to grow in Him together!
Pastor’s Pen –
Bearing One Another’s Burdens -It has been a very busy season for Helen and I through Easter and the days following. We have been ministering to several individuals who are seriously ill and others suffering from chronic conditions that have confined them to their beds. Each Wednesday evening, we as a church gather for prayer, lifting these precious ones and many other needs before the Lord. We live in a time when people often no longer know their neighbours or interact with them — a far cry from the days many of us remember, where every street was a close-knit community. In those days, people cared for one another, knew each other’s names, and shared in one another’s struggles.
As Christians, Jesus calls us to be our brother’s keeper. Yet sadly, many who attend church today remain unaware of the needs or burdens of the very people they worship alongside. We can sin by doing wrong — and we can also sin by doing nothing. The story of the Good Samaritan (Luke 10) is not just a parable but a mandate from Christ Himself: to weep with those who weep and rejoice with those who rejoice. If we remain isolated in our church life, we become like the priest or the Levite who passed by the wounded man, doing nothing. How can we respond rightly? First, make it a point to get to know those who stand beside you each Sunday in worship.
Second, join the CCSH Prayer Team, lifting up the needs of the fellowship before the throne of grace. Remember: ignorance is no excuse — not now, and certainly not when we stand before the Lord. Let’s be a church known for love in action.
Helen’s heart
Rom 1:28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; This is a burning passage declaring God’s wrath on all who suppress the truth. God gives them over to their ‘sick’ minds. As terrible as this seems, it is of their own choosing because of their rebellion against God. This draws an accurate picture of modern evolutionary humanism. Paul in his apt description of the Roman culture of his day was still willing to go to Rome and preach the Gospel for It is the power of God unto salvation to all who believe. Rom 1:16. As the Gospel was then it still is. Go in power this week!
Grace Giving 2Co 9:7 Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver. We encourage all of you who are part of our Calvary Chapel Secret Harbour Fellowship family to give without obligation but with a cheerful heart of worship. Your gifts allow God’s work to be done in our surrounding communities. Account name – Calvary Chapel Church Secret Harbour Incorporated – Account – 10891970 – BSB – 066-516.
After the service, if you would like prayer, the Pastors and Elders will be available at the front of the sanctuary to pray with you. In addition, If you would like to know how to become a Christian, we will have someone show you through God’s Word, what the Bible teaches, that we must know and do to be a follower of Christ.
