Prayer for the church
Once the service has commenced, especially during the teaching of God’s Word, we ask that you remain seated so not to be a distraction to others. Should you need to move the Ushers on your return will direct you to a seat at the rear of the sanctuary.
What does Jesus think of His Church?
What’s on this week?
Welcome to CCSH this morning! If you desire to know how to receive Christ as your Saviour and Lord, or if you would like prayer, please see one of the pastors directly after the service — we would be honoured to speak with you. We offer crèche for infants and Junior Church for young children every Sunday. If you choose to keep your child with you during the service, we kindly ask that you utilise the overflow seating in the foyer. This is for your convenience and your child’s, and helps ensure that during the teaching of God’s Word there are no distractions to the speaker or the congregation. Our ushers are available to assist you with seating.

Helen’s Heart
Psa 143:6 I lift my hands to you in prayer. I thirst for you as parched land thirsts for rain. The Israelites had spent years of wandering in a hot and dry desert; although to us, looking at the Promised Land from the hills of Moab, it was not our image of an oasis, to them the path of pale green grass meant refreshing life sustaining water. Like an oasis, God’s goodness is found in dry difficult lives dull us to God’s gifts that often can be seen more clearly when we are tired and thirsty. Be thirsty for God’s goodness – Helen

From the Pastor’s Pen
A Time to Be Quiet Ecclesiastes 3:1 – “For everything there is a season, a time for every activity under heaven.”
Ecclesiastes 3:7 – “…a time to be quiet and a time to speak.” When you’re hurting, you quickly come to appreciate the quiet presence of a brother or sister in Christ who simply listens. There is healing power in a gentle companion who doesn’t try to fix your pain but just walks with you through it. Yet, when someone we know is hurting, we often feel a strong urge to say something—anything. In our attempt to help, we can fall into the trap of giving advice, quoting Scripture out of context, or offering solutions that aren’t needed. Sometimes, like Job’s friends, we do well until we open our mouths. Let us remember that often the best thing we can do is be present and quiet. Give your hurting friend space to speak. Let them share their sorrow without interruption. Don’t feel pressure to have the right words—sometimes a compassionate silence says more than a thousand sentences. When someone you love is in pain, ask the Lord to help you be: A gentle encourager A faithful burden-bearer A good listener And a person of few words. Your quiet care may speak more powerfully than you know.
