Prayer for the church

Once the service has commenced, especially during the teaching of God’s Word, we ask that you remain seated so not to be a distraction to others. Should you need to move the Ushers on your return will direct you to a seat at the rear of the sanctuary.

What’s on this week?
Welcome to Calvary Chapel Secret Harbour! We’re so glad to have you with us this morning. Last Friday evening’s CCSH Men’s Night was a wonderful time of great food and genuine fellowship. If you weren’t able to attend, be sure to join us next time as the godly men of our church gather. Events like our recent women’s and men’s gatherings are more than just social occasions—they are opportunities to connect as the body of Christ, to pray for one another, and to encourage each other in our walk with God. This morning, as we partake in Communion, we remind parents that the decision regarding their children’s participation rests with them. The key is that each participant has personally received Jesus Christ as their Saviour. Let us take the bread and cup as the Apostle Paul teaches: 1 Corinthians 11:28 – “But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of the bread and drink of the cup.” Tonight, we continue our evening series on The Holy Spirit—we’d love for you to join us. If you are in need of prayer, or if you have recently accepted Christ as your Lord and Saviour, our Pastors are available after each service to pray with you and encourage you in the Word of God. Prayer is vital to our personal walk and to our life together as a church. We invite you to join us for pre-service prayer every Sunday at 9:45am in Classroom #1, and for Wednesday evening prayer here at the chapel at 7:00pm.

Helen’s Heart Go on peace..and God grant your petition – 1 Sam 1:17 Hannah means gracious, and we see she depicts this as she endures the most unpleasant circumstances. She shared her husband with another woman who taunted her relentlessly because she had no children. Yet we see her piety reigned in her heart and she rose above the untoward situation and v7, went to worship the Lord..Her heart was open to the Lord, she did not retaliate and her pain found refuge in prayer. Her prayer indeed was answered and her Song of Thanksgiving, is still an inspiration to the saints down the centuries. My heart rejoices in the Lord…He brings low and lifts up, He raises the poor from the dust…He will guard the feet of His saints…and exalt the horn of His anointed – 1 Samuel 2:1- 10

Grace Giving 2Co 9:7 Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver. We encourage all of you who are part of our Calvary Chapel Secret Harbour Fellowship family to give without obligation but with a cheerful heart of worship. Your gifts allow God’s work to be done in our surrounding communities. Account name – Calvary Chapel Church Secret Harbour Incorporated – Account – 10891970 – BSB – 066-516.

From the Pastor’s Pen
Rev 3: 15 “I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I could wish you were cold or hot. 16 So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth. To be spiritually lukewarm is to be complacent, halfhearted, and unable to recognise the depth of one’s spiritual need. The lukewarm person straddles the fence and is half hearted about spiritual things. Conviction never affects his or her conscious level; the conscience remains untouched. Lukewarm people don’t take either Jesus or the Bible seriously. They wink at sin and have no concern for a lost soul; hence they have no viable witness! A lukewarm person names the name of Christ but lives as though He does not exist. This kind of Church attendee has been inoculated with an insipid form of Christianity that makes him or her immune to the real thing. They, just like those in the Laodicean Church say, “We’re fine, we’re rich, we don’t need anything!” But Jesus says, “They are lost, miserable, poor, blind and naked.” Let each of us today draw even closer to our Lord and deeper into His will! Let each of us be zealous, ready to serve, faithful and ever grateful for God’s grace and His mercy!

Do you have the peace of God?
There are four key things to God’s plan of peace for your life. 1. God’s Plan – Peace and Life. God loves you and wants you to experience His peace and life. – read John 3:16. 2 Our Problem – Separation. 2. Being at peace with God is not automatic, because by nature you are separated from God – read Romans 3:23. 3. God’s Remedy – The Cross, God’s love bridges the gaps of separation between God and you. When Jesus died on the Cross and rose from the grave, He paid the penalty for your sins – read 1 Peter 2:24. 4. Our Response – Receive Christ, You cross the bridge into God’s family when you receive Christ by personal invitation – read John 1:12.

Latest Antisemitic Attacks in Australia – Israel condemns the attacks on a synagogue and an Israeli restaurant in Melbourne as racist, antisemitic terrorism and calls on Australia to bring the perpetrators to justice. “The horrifying attacks overnight on a synagogue and an Israeli business in Melbourne are yet another reminder of how far racist, antisemitic hate crimes have spread in the heart of Australia,” says Deputy Foreign Minister Sharren Haskel. “Targeting Jewish houses of worship and an Israeli restaurant is terrorism, aimed at intimidating an entire community simply because of their religion and identity,” she says. The attacks are the latest in a string of antisemitic incidents in Australia in recent years. “Let me be clear: these attacks are happening because, for too long, there have been no real consequences for those spreading hate and inciting violence. Weakness and silence only embolden the extremists,”
“There is no justification — ever — for violence and hatred directed at Jews, Israelis, or any minority. The perpetrators of this terrorism must be brought to justice,” she says.
