Friday – Calvary Kids & Calvary Youth

Once the service has commenced, especially during the teaching of God’s Word, we ask that you remain seated so not to be a distraction to others. Should you need to move the Ushers on your return will direct you to a seat at the rear of the sanctuary.

What’s on this week

Tonight, Pastor Israel continues our study through 2 Corinthians 6:1–13 with the message “Enduring in the Ministry of Reconciliation.”

Study of God’s Word – Many have asked about formal Bible training here at CCSH. Did you know that by faithfully attending the Bible teachings at CCSH, you will actually receive more in-depth theological training than most formal Bible courses provide? And by serving in the many ministry opportunities here, you also gain the practical experience those colleges require.

This Friday, Calvary Kids and Calvary Youth will be meeting—there is always room for helpers to come alongside and serve! Also, the opportunity to purchase the new CCSH Youth hoodies is closing soon. To secure one before they’re gone, please see Noah Carmody.

Calvary Men: lock in the date—Friday, 26th September—for our upcoming men’s evening here at the chapel. This will be a very practical, hands-on night as we look at real-life scenarios that can happen in church and consider how we, as men of God, must be ready to step up. It’s a must-attend for all CCSH men!
And for those who love to read ahead: once we complete our series in Revelation on Sunday mornings, we will move into the book of Daniel. On Wednesday nights, we will begin a new series studying the parables of Jesus.

Don’t forget to join us this Wednesday evening for our Church prayer night – it’s only through the Church praying that power is released through all that happens here at CCSH.

From the Pastor’s Pen
We are heartbroken over the murder—indeed the assassination—of our brother in Christ, Charlie Kirk, a man who boldly proclaimed the Gospel of Jesus with courage and passion. This faithfulness has cost Charlie his life, leaving his wife a widow and his two young children without their father.
The world is responding in two strikingly different ways to this young man of God’s death. Millions are mourning while also celebrating Charlie’s life and his uncompromising stand for truth—the truth of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Yet, tragically, there are also many who are rejoicing over his murder.
The prophet Isaiah foretold that such days would come just before Christ’s return:
“Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; Who put darkness for light, and light for darkness; Who put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter! Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes, And prudent in their own sight!” (Isaiah 5:20–21).
This week, in speaking with Pastor Nathanael about this wicked response, we were reminded of Revelation 11:10, where the world will one day celebrate the death of God’s Two Witnesses during the Tribulation. Such rejoicing over evil is a clear sign of the times in which we live.
Let us, first of all, pray earnestly for Charlie’s wife and children—that God would comfort them and surround them with His peace. Secondly, let us be spurred on by Charlie’s example of faithfulness and courage. As Jim Elliot, another young man who gave his life for Christ at age 28 in Ecuador in 1956, once wrote:
“He is no fool who gives what he cannot keep to gain what he cannot lose.”

Quotes of the Week
Erika Kirk speaking on her husband Charlie’s death…
“Two days ago my husband Charlie went to see the face of his Saviour and his God…Now, and for all eternity, he will stand at his Saviour’s side wearing the glorious crown of a martyr.”

“The Bible is either absolute or it is obsolete.” – Vance Havner

Operation Christmas Child
Kicks off today here at Calvary Chapel Secret Harbour. Be sure that you and your family seize this awesome opportunity to share the Gospel of Christ with a child and bring the blessing of our giving God to their hearts personally.
