Prayer for our Nation!

Once our service has begun, and especially during the teaching of God’s Word, we kindly ask that everyone remain seated so as not to distract others who are listening. If you do need to step out, our Ushers will lovingly guide you to a seat at the rear of the sanctuary or in the foyer overflow when you return.
We do this out of love and reverence for the Lord and His Word, desiring that His message be received with undivided hearts.

What’s on this week

This coming Friday, both Calvary Kids and Calvary Youth will be happening here at the church! More information will be shared during the announcements this morning. There is also something special for everyone after this morning’s service! Each week, CCSH provides three opportunities to study God’s Word, and every fortnight, with the Calvary Women’s Bible Study, there’s another morning to hear God’s Word taught. Yes, you can watch online—but there is nothing like being in the actual services to hear God’s Word preached in person!
Let us remember Paul’s final words to young Timothy before his execution in Rome: “Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching.” — 2 Timothy 4:2 We also encourage everyone to receive the daily devotions from Pastor Keith and Pastor Israel. These devotions not only provide a Biblical start to your day but also include ongoing updates on the situation in Israel, which continues to take the centre of the world’s attention. They help you stay tuned to current events and understand how they fit within Bible prophecy.
Simply log on to our website — ccsh.com.au — and follow the links.
It’s just 60 days until Christmas!
We are also delighted to announce that Pastor James Stretchberry will be visiting with us on Sunday, November 16th, bringing the latest news from Israel and the American European Bethel Mission (AEBM).
The Bethel Hostel, part of AEBM, is a Christian hostel located in the heart of Haifa, Israel—nestled between the Mediterranean Sea and the Carmel Mountains in the German Colony. It provides affordable accommodation and a welcoming place of rest for pilgrims, groups, and individuals who love Israel, need a retreat, or simply desire a peaceful stay with genuine Christian hospitality.

Grace Giving
2Co 9:7 Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver. We encourage all of you who are part of our Calvary Chapel Secret Harbour Fellowship family to give without obligation but with a cheerful heart of worship. Your gifts allow God’s work to be done in “Judea, Samaria and the uttermost parts of the world.” Account name – Calvary Chapel Church Secret Harbour Incorporated – Account – 10891970 – BSB – 066-516.

From the Pastor’s Pen
A visit to the stores on Saturday revealed that the busyness of the Christmas season is upon us. The lines at the cash registers are beginning to grow, and shopping trolleys are filling with gifts for the day the world celebrates Christ’s birth. We can either be carried along by the foolishness of the world—with Halloween and the empty distractions that follow—or we can, through our constant fellowship and study of God’s Word, prepare our hearts to once again remember that God gave His only Son, Jesus Christ, to be born in a humble manger in little Bethlehem. Parents, we hold the rudder that steers our family’s ship, and it should always be directed toward Jesus Christ, the Messiah. As you prepare your home, your refrigerator, your yard, and your Christmas decorations, I pray that you will also make available books and displays that tell the true Christmas story and share the message of the Gospel. You can even help unsaved family members by giving them such gifts—simple yet powerful reminders of Christ’s birth and purpose. The Christmas season opens a special door for us to share our love for Jesus Christ and the message of salvation. It is this very opportunity that the Apostle Paul asked the churches to pray for him:
“Meanwhile praying also for us, that God would open to us a door for the word, to speak the mystery of Christ, for which I am also in chains.”
— Colossians 4:3 Our prayer for each of you is that God will likewise open doors for you to share the love of Jesus Christ and the wonderful message of the Gospel this Christmas season.

Quote of the Week
“Christmas is about receiving and giving. Give the gift of the true Christmas story—that God gave His Son so that mankind would receive Him. Let’s focus not on our own joys but making others joyful. The greatest gift we can give others is to tell them about the most wonderful Gift God has bestowed on the whole world.” – Billy Graham

Helen’s heart
A cheerful look brings joy to the heart – Prov 15:30 Facing a struggle day in day out – can become tiresome, annoying and somewhat depressing. It is the uncertainty of no ‘end – date’ and the continual guessing the future. Here, we need to set our hope in Him. God communicates happiness and joy to those in union with Him, “It takes so little to make us glad, just a cheery clasp of a friendly hand. Just a word from one who can understand. And we lose the doubt and fear we had. So little it takes to make us glad.”- author unknown. In spite of the circumstances we are in ‘Press on’ in Him – In Thy presence is fulness of joy – Psalm 16:11 . And we know all things work together for good to them that love God!

Wednesday Discipleship night
Last Wednesday evening, we prayed for and anointed with oil several people who were seeking God’s touch for many needs. Each Wednesday, the “machinery and power” ministry of the Church here at Calvary charges up in prayer—calling on God and asking Him to intercede here at CCSH. We encourage you to join us this Wednesday evening at 7:00pm for our ongoing study in the parables of Christ, followed by our time of corporate prayer.
Come and be part of this vital ministry as we seek to see God’s power demonstrated here in this place!
