What’s on this week
Welcome! We are so glad you have joined us today at Calvary Chapel Secret Harbour. This morning we have the wonderful privilege of partaking in Holy Communion—a time for Christ’s family to gather and remember all that our Lord has done for us. It is a moment to give thanks for His grace, love, and mercy.
As we share in Communion, we look back to Christ’s sacrifice and suffering—how He took our sins upon Himself and removed them from us once and for all. We also look ahead to the day when we will sit with Him in glory and rejoice in seeing Him face to face.
Parents, we ask that you prayerfully guide your children in this time, discerning whether they have received Jesus as their Lord and Saviour and the extent of their participation in this blessed sacrament.
Ministries on Break: Calvary Women’s Study, Calvary Kids, and Calvary Youth are all on break during the school holiday period.Next women’s Tuesday Bible study will be – 21st October.
Operation Christmas Child: Today is the final Sunday to bring in your gift shoebox. Remember to also pray over your box and for the precious child who will receive it this Christmas!
Prayers for Manchester: As Christ’s family here in Secret Harbour, we extend our prayers and support to the Jewish community in Manchester, who are grieving after a vile terrorist attack on Yom Kippur that took the lives of members of their synagogue. We live in dark times, and it is vital that we at CCSH remain vigilant to ensure the safety of the body of Christ here. Please be alert to any unfamiliar or concerning behaviour on the Church grounds.
Prayer for Peace: We continue to pray that the latest peace plan for Gaza will bring lasting resolution and for the safe release of the 49 hostages still in captivity.
Special Guest: Pastor James Stretchberry from American European Bethel Mission (AEBM) will be visiting with us in mid-November to share the latest news from the streets of Jerusalem.
Prayer Gatherings: Join us for prayer each Wednesday evening and before Sunday morning services—we cherish the opportunity to seek the Lord together as His people. “Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” —Romans 15:13

Grace Giving
2Co 9:7 Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver. We encourage all of you who are part of our Calvary Chapel Secret Harbour Fellowship family to give without obligation but with a cheerful heart of worship. Your gifts allow God’s work to be done in “Judea, Samaria and the uttermost parts of the world.” Account name – Calvary Chapel Church Secret Harbour Incorporated – Account – 10891970 – BSB – 066-516.

From the Pastor’s Pen
We live in a time of great political and religious turmoil—not only in our own nation but across the world. Each day seems to bring another spark of hatred, whether in tragic attacks like the one in Manchester, or in violent protests stirred by pro-Palestinian groups, many of which are funded by Hamas, as was the case with the recent “Gaza Flotilla.”
As followers of Christ, we must be careful not to be drawn into the black hole of worldly unrest. We are the Church of Jesus Christ, and He has already given us our marching orders through His Word. Though our emotions may run high when we see vile things done and said, our mission remains clear: to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ, to pray for God’s will to be done on earth, and to bring hope to a lost world through the death and resurrection of our Savior.
Yes, Jesus is coming soon, and we know that the tribulation period will follow. Things will indeed get far worse. But today—right now—we are called to be the praying, interceding Church that Jesus has placed in this world. We are the ones holding back the flood of evil, bringing the light of Christ into a dark and violent age.
So let it be time for you to shine!
“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father in heaven.”
—Matthew 5:16

Quote of the Week
“The secular church is one dominated by the world, as much of the contemporary church is. It is characterized by the world’s wisdom, the world’s theology, the world’s agenda, and the world’s methods. The evangelical church, when it is secular, is one that seeks to do God’s work but in the world’s way. It looks to the media and money rather than to God and His power, which is unleashed through prayer.” ― James Montgomery Boice,

Helen’s heart
Deu 6:7 And thou shalt teach (God’s Word) diligently to your children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, The main reason God blessed Abraham with many descendants was because He knew Abraham would teach his children God’s Word. Our children need the formal teaching of God’s Word but also the incidental teaching – that natural flow of conversation. This is what removes us from the Sunday once a week lifestyle into the Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday…so much so Christ fits into our every day living!
