Once our service has begun, and especially during the teaching of God’s Word, we kindly ask that everyone remain seated so as not to distract others who are listening. If you do need to step out, our Ushers will lovingly guide you to a seat at the rear of the sanctuary or in the foyer overflow when you return thank you.
What’s on this week
Christmas Eve – A Special Night Together
Our Christmas Eve service is now only 10 days away, beginning at 6:00pm sharp. We look forward to gathering as a church family to celebrate the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ. A children’s program will be provided, and after the service there will be a special area for family Christmas photos, making it a meaningful evening for all ages.
As we prepare our hearts, please take time this week to pray for those the Lord may place on your heart to invite—friends, neighbours, workmates, and family. Also remember loved ones who are away or overseas, and encourage them to join with us online via our livestream and YouTube channel, so they too can share in this special time of worship. Wednesday Evening – Prayer & the Word This Wednesday evening, before our time of prayer, Pastor Keith will bring a special message from Daniel chapter 9, focusing on the final week of Daniel’s prophecy—the 70th Week, often referred to as the Great Tribulation period. We especially invite you to come and pray for the families of Calvary Chapel Secret Harbour as we approach Christmas. There is great power in bringing one another before the throne of God—come and stand in the gap for a family. Youth Hoodies Available There are just a few Calvary Chapel Youth hoodies remaining. Please see Noah Carmody for payment. These would make a thoughtful and practical Christmas gift. Christmas Tree & Serving Opportunities You may notice our Christmas tree in the foyer is still undecorated. We invite each family to bring along one Christmas ornament to help decorate it—a simple way to share in the joy of the season together. If you would like to assist in serving on Christmas Eve, please see Thomas Woodage or any of the pastors and leave your details. Your willingness to serve is a blessing to the body.
Grace Giving
2Co 9:7 Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver. We encourage all of you who are part of our Calvary Chapel Secret Harbour Fellowship family to give without obligation but with a cheerful heart of worship. Your gifts allow God’s work to be done in “Judea, Samaria and the uttermost parts of the world.” Account name – Calvary Chapel Church Secret Harbour Incorporated – Account – 10891970 – BSB – 066-516.
From the Pastor’s Pen
As Christmas approaches each year, my thoughts are often drawn back to that very first Christmas for young Joseph and Mary. It would have been one of the most traumatic and emotionally challenging seasons of their lives. Mary’s virgin pregnancy, Joseph’s plan to quietly divorce her, and then the appearance of angels to both of them with clear messages from God—nothing about that first Christmas was simple or comfortable. Christmas can still bring its own trials and unexpected “speed bumps” for many of us today. Yet what we learn from that first Christmas in Bethlehem is this: God brings everything together for those who love Him and serve Him. Blessings flowed not only to Joseph and Mary, but also to the shepherds—who were given a private performance by a great heavenly choir of angels declaring the glory of God.
Perhaps things are not looking like smooth sailing for your Christmas at the moment. If so, call out to the Lord. Seek Him in His Word. Trust Him to bring you through. Give Him your cares and allow Him to sort them out in His perfect timing.
The Bible gives us this promise: “And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.” Romans 8:28 Give Him your Christmas, and together let us celebrate the wonder of our Lord Jesus Christ—born in Bethlehem for us.
Calvary Chapel Nasinu – Fiji
Let us remember Pastor Charles and Tina in Nasinu this coming Christmas Season. Let us pray for their services and the Lord’s blessing upon the fellowship.
Quote for the week
“That baby who was born to Mary was more than just another man—He was God in human flesh. He came into the world for one reason: to make it possible for our sins to be forgiven, so we could become part of God’s family forever.” “Don’t leave Jesus in the manger; don’t remember Him only at Christmas. Instead, learn to walk with Him every day, as you pray and read His Word and ask Him to help you.” – Billy Graham
Christmas Worship Evening – “Oh Come All Ye Faithful!”
You are all warmly invited to join us next Sunday evening at 6:00pm, here at the Chapel, for an evening of Christmas worship as we lead into Christmas 2025.
It will be a special night of praise, worship, and thanksgiving, as we rejoice together in the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ.
