What’s on this week
Tonight at 6:00pm
Join us for a special night of Christmas praise and worship as we celebrate the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ. We will also gather as His Church to give thanks and partake in Holy Communion together.
Worship & Prayer As our nation mourns, we as the Lord’s Church have a responsibility to pray and intercede on behalf of Australia. This Christmas, we can bring comfort, hope, and grace to family and friends who are living in fear. We encourage you to invite family, friends, and even strangers to join you this Christmas Eve—a time when many questions need answers. Please arrive early for a 6:00pm start to ensure seating in the main sanctuary. A full children’s program will be available during the service. For those with family overseas, please let them know they can join us via our livestreaming service.
Grace Giving
2Co 9:7 Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver. We encourage all of you who are part of our Calvary Chapel Secret Harbour Fellowship family to give without obligation but with a cheerful heart of worship. From the Pastor’s Pen
It is as though our whole nation has been to a funeral, and now we find ourselves in the days that follow— dormant, waiting, yet unsure of what we are waiting for. There is a sense of silence, of pause. We ask ourselves, Is it time now for God to move? That first Christmas, God did move. Luke 2:1–5 …all the world should be registered… Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judea, to the city of David, which is called Bethlehem… So often, when we are in need—when things are not going well—we feel as though God is doing nothing. Yet God is always moving. He neither sleeps nor slumbers. The prophet Habakkuk felt this same tension when he cried out: “O LORD, how long shall I cry, and You will not hear?” (Habakkuk 1:2–3) During that first Christmas season, at precisely the right time, God orchestrated a census that required a very pregnant young Mary and her husband Joseph to travel some 110 kilometres from Nazareth to Bethlehem. Why? Because it was time for the Messiah to be born. It was the appointed place, even though there was no room for Him in the inn. As we approach Christmas 2025, let us, as followers of Jesus Christ, be assured: God is moving, and His timing is impeccable. There is still much yet to unfold that has been written—particularly in the book of Revelation—concerning this fallen world. But be assured, everything is on schedule. When we apply this truth to our own lives, we can find confidence and rest in knowing that as we live in the will of God—around us, over us, behind us, and before us—God is at work.
Joseph and Mary had to travel a great distance under difficult circumstances. For Mary especially, the journey would have been deeply uncomfortable, to say the least. Yet with each challenging kilometre, I am sure the words she had spoken to Gabriel reassured her and gave her strength: “Behold the maidservant of the Lord! Let it be to me according to your word.” (Luke 1:38)
As you head toward Christmas, know this: God is working, He has been working, and He is leading your life step by step.
Helen’s Heart
For unto us a child is born, to us a Son is given and the government will be on His shoulders. And He will be called Wonderful, Counsellor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace – Isaiah 9:6 Amidst a world that does not recognize the Christ of Christmas – we as Christians need to celebrate the “Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world.” John 1:29 The Creator who became your Saviour – Jesus is the reason for the season. Yours and my spirit rejoices!

2Ch 7:14
“if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.
