Daily devotion – Bondi!
2 Chronicles 7:14
“If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.”
Bondi and the Cry of a Nation – How Should We Respond?
The tragic violence that has unfolded on our own shores has shaken our nation. Lives have been lost, families devastated, and fear has gripped many hearts. When such darkness erupts so publicly, the people of God must ask a sobering question—not first what should the government do? but what must the Church do?
Scripture gives us the answer clearly.
God does not call the world to repentance in 2 Chronicles 7:14—He calls His people.
History reminds us that evil flourishes when it is tolerated and ignored. The haunting words of Martin Niemöller echo loudly in moments like these:
First they came for the Communists…
Then they came for the Jews…
Then they came for me—
and there was no one left to speak for me.
Silence has never been neutral.
This Sunday, from Daniel chapter 10, I will be sharing a special message entitled:
“Bondi Murders – Behind the Scenes!”
Daniel reminds us that behind earthly events are unseen spiritual battles. What we witness with our eyes is often the fruit of what has already been occurring in the spiritual realm.
This Wednesday, we will gather to pray for our nation, our church, and our families. We must understand that hatred directed at the Jewish people is not isolated. Every true follower of Jesus Christ stands in the same spiritual crosshairs. The enemy has always opposed the God of Israel and the redemptive plan fulfilled through His Son.
Samuel the prophet warned Israel that to cease praying is itself sin:
“God forbid that I should sin against the LORD in ceasing to pray for you…”
(1 Samuel 12:23)
Prayer is not optional in times like these—it is obedience.
We are also reminded of God’s enduring promise:
“I will bless those who bless you, and curse him who curses you…”
(Genesis 12:3)
We must continue to pray for God’s chosen people, Israel, and for the peace of Jerusalem.
Let us be clear: legislation alone cannot heal a nation. Laws may restrain behaviour, but they cannot transform hearts.
The heart of the problem has always been—and will always be—the problem of the heart.
Satan is making a worldwide push to erase Christ from culture, to silence truth, and even to strip away the celebration of Christmas—the declaration that God entered human history. He will not relent.
Therefore, the call of Scripture rings urgently:
“And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep…”
(Romans 13:11)
Church, the hour is late.
The solution is not fear.
The solution is not silence.
The solution is humble repentance, faithful prayer, and unwavering obedience to the Lord Jesus Christ.
Let us seek His face—while it may yet be found.
