Daily devotion: Children serving the Lord NOW!
1 Timothy 4:12
“Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.”
Last night we had the privilege of being with our Calvary Kids for a special question-and-answer evening with Helen, Pastor Israel, and Nathan helping guide the discussion. The questions that came from these young hearts were remarkable—solid, thoughtful, and deeply theological.
Questions such as, “Why didn’t God give us a specific time for the Rapture?” and “Why did God create Satan if He knew he would turn evil?” revealed a level of biblical understanding far beyond their years. Their maturity in handling the Scriptures was both humbling and encouraging.
Our time together powerfully reminded us that God delights to use even the youngest among us in His work. As we shared with them, we sensed their genuine passion to serve here at Calvary Chapel Secret Harbour.
People often say children are the “future” of the Church. But that statement falls short. These children are not tomorrow’s Church—they are the Church today. God is already shaping, equipping, and stirring their hearts for ministry. To serve now!
This is something the Lord has deeply impressed upon the leadership here at Calvary: to train, support, and release the youngest of our saints into the work of the Lord.
And like young Timothy—whose sincere faith began with his grandmother Lois and his mother Eunice—the faith of these children is being nurtured now in their homes and in our fellowship.
2 Timothy 1:5
“When I call to remembrance the unfeigned faith that is in thee, which dwelt first in thy grandmother Lois, and thy mother Eunice; and I am persuaded that in thee also.”
May we continue to pray, disciple, and encourage the next generation—who are already faithfully walking out their calling in Christ.
