Daily devotion – The wonder of answered prayer!
God Keeps His Promises – read Luke 1:5-25
“The LORD directs the steps of the godly. He delights in every detail of their lives.” (Psalm 37:23)
“And the very hairs on your head are all numbered.” (Luke 12:7)
The story of Zacharias and Elizabeth reminds us that God is intimately involved in every aspect of our lives. Even when things seem hopeless, as with Elizabeth’s lifelong barrenness, God’s plan is still unfolding. Their faithfulness in serving God, despite disappointment, shows us that the righteous do suffer, but suffering is not a sign of God’s absence or judgement. Instead, it can be part of His greater purpose.
God answered their prayers in His perfect timing, giving them a son, John, whose life would be marked by God’s grace and purpose. Sometimes, God’s answers to our prayers come in ways and at times we do not expect. His delays are not denials; He is always working for our good.
If you are waiting for God to answer your prayers, do not lose heart. Continue to trust, serve, and love Him. God always keeps His promises, and nothing is too hard for Him. Let us walk by faith, believing that God’s plan for our lives is good, and in time, we will see His divine perspective.
This week, Lord, help us to trust You in every season. Strengthen our faith to believe that You keep Your promises and that Your timing is perfect. Help me to serve You faithfully, knowing that You delight in every detail of our lives, in Jesus name Amen!
