Welcome to Calvary Chapel Secret Harbour
Tonight 6:00pm – Pastor Israel is back and teaching us through the Book of Nehemiah chapter 5 ‘From Greed to Gospel Grace!”
Our Wednesday night Bible study and prayer night is back in full swing starting at 7:00pm. Acts has 28 chapters, so we will be covering a lot of ground each Wednesday night overview that you will need for context for the Sunday messages. Make this a part of your daily routine and you will be surprised at how much you will grow in the things of the Lord and expand greatly your Bible knowledge. Parents don’t forget to assist with your children’s offerings in Junior Church. Your child will be elated with the privilege and joy of giving for the work of the Lord and set them on a biblical path of maturity and blessing.
Baptism Service – Jesus commanded His disciples to: “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.” (Matthew 28:19)

From the Pastor’s Pen I love to see worn-out, beaten-up Bibles—dog-eared pages, tea and coffee stains, underlined verses, notes scribbled throughout, exclamation marks everywhere. They speak of a life spent in the Word. Yes, I know we’ve moved into the digital age, but I do wonder how often a Bible app is interrupted or swiped away when a text or email pops up. There’s something precious about holding the Word of God in your hands without distraction.
I love taking my travelling Bibles with me. I have a number of them for when I know I’m heading somewhere that will involve waiting—a common occurrence these days. Out comes my sword, and God speaks to me right there in the waiting area. By doing this, I can get through the New Testament each month.
I also keep a Bible permanently in my car, marked out for hospital visits as well as a thumb-drive with the entire Bible taught by Pastor Chuck Smith. At times, I’ve worked through the book of Deuteronomy or others while stuck in traffic jams—simply outstanding! What the enemy might intend for frustration, God so often redeems for instruction and blessing. So how is your Bible? Is it read daily? I even have a “breakfast Bible” that I read every morning as I start my day. I love beginning the day with the Bread of Life. The Bible is still the best-selling book in the world. How marvellous it would be if it were also the most-read book in the world. Perhaps you haven’t touched your Bible for some time—or opened that app. I want to exhort you, for your own blessing: open it today, and open it every day. Wear it out. Open every page. Enjoy it. Make it your own. Once you start, you won’t want to go without it—I can assure you.
“Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.”
Psalm 119:105
Helen’s Heart
A cheerful look brings joy to the heart – Prov 15:30 Facing a struggle day in day out, can become tiresome, annoying and somewhat depressing. It is the uncertainty of no ‘end-date’ and the continual guessing the future. Hence we need to set our hope in Him. God communicates happiness and joy to those in union with Him. “It takes so little to make us glad, just a cheering clasp of a friendly hand. Just a word from one who can understand. And we finish the task we long had planned. And we lose the doubt and fear we had. So little it takes to make us glad.” – Author unknown. In spite of the circumstances we are in ‘press on’ in Him – In Thy presence is fullness of joy – Psalm 16:11 And we know all things work together for good to them that love God…
