Daily Devotion – CCSH Youth Night – your prayers

Strength for the Battle – Prayer for Our Youth

I ask you to be in prayer for Calvary Youth as we launch our first youth night this Friday the 13th. Noah has kindly made it available for me to teach this first Friday from Genesis chapter 1. What a foundation to lay before our young people — “In the beginning, God…”

Please pray for every young person who will attend. Pray for open hearts, attentive ears, and a hunger for truth. Pray also for grace, wisdom, and endurance for the Youth Leaders as they serve week after week. Ministry to youth is not light work — it is frontline work.

We live in desperate times for the youth of our nation, and even more so for the youth and children within our own church family. The world pulls hard. The voices are loud. The pressures are relentless. There are real forces seeking to drag our young people back into the world to distort, distract, and ultimately destroy.

But we are not without hope — nor are we without power.

God’s Word is living and sharp. His Holy Spirit is mighty to save and transform. And when the Church stands fully committed behind these young souls, we will see victories. We will see God raise up young men and women of conviction — leaders who will stand unashamed for Christ and lead others to Him.

This Friday, Calvary Kids begins at 5:00pm, followed by Calvary Youth at 6:00pm. Pray about being part of the unseen support team — security, setup, pack down, practical help, or simply being present and available. The Lord sees what is done in secret, and He uses every willing hand.

We are at war — but we are soldiers in the Lord’s army.

Isaiah reminds us:

“Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding.
He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength.
Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall:
But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.”
— Isaiah 40:28–31

Even the youth grow weary. Even the strong stumble. But those who wait upon the Lord — those who look to Him, trust Him, and depend upon Him — will be renewed.

Let us wait on the Lord in prayer for them.

And may He raise up a generation that mounts up with wings as eagles.
