From Easy to Impossible — God’s Preparation

When Saul met Jesus on the road to Damascus, his life changed forever. From persecutor to preacher, his transformation was immediate and undeniable.

Acts 9:19–25 tells us that after regaining his strength, Saul spent time with the disciples in Damascus. Immediately he began preaching in the synagogues that Jesus is the Son of God. Those who heard him were astonished — the very man who had destroyed Christians was now proclaiming Christ. Saul grew stronger and boldly proved that Jesus is the Messiah. Soon, however, opposition rose, and a plot formed to kill him. By night, the disciples lowered him in a basket through the city wall so he could escape.

The people were more than merely surprised — the word used suggests they were beside themselves with amazement. This brilliant student of Gamaliel, once a fierce Pharisee, was now powerfully teaching that Jesus is the Christ.

In many ways, every Christian walks through three stages:

This is easy

This is difficult

This is impossible

At this moment, Saul was still in the first stage of his new life with Christ. But God was already preparing him for what lay ahead. Much of Acts of the Apostles chapter 9 shows the beginning of that preparation — learning dependence, facing danger, and discovering that ministry would require both courage and humility.

God works the same way in our lives. He moulds and shapes us into the instrument He intends us to be. The people we meet, the events we face, the storms and trials we walk through all serve one purpose: that our lives would ultimately bring Him glory.

This week, pause and look for God’s hand over your life.
See how He has guided, corrected, protected, and strengthened you — even through the hard places. What feels difficult today may simply be God preparing you for what He already knows is coming.
