Wise Men Still Seek Him

Pastor Israel Carmody   -

The Magi in Matthew Chapter 2 didn’t stumble upon Jesus by accident. These learned men from the East — likely astronomers and advisors from ancient Persia — had been studying the skies and the ancient Scriptures. They had read prophecies about a coming King, possibly influenced by the legacy of Daniel who once led their order centuries earlier. When they saw the star, they packed up and traveled hundreds of kilometres with one burning question: “Where is He who has been born King of the Jews? We have come to worship Him.”

Their journey reminds us that genuine seekers find Him. God honours honest searching. He met these Gentiles in their study of the stars and the Word, guiding them step by step until they stood before the young Child.

In a world full of distractions and competing voices, many still ask the same question today. They sense something greater is at work and long to find the true King. The good news is that Jesus is not hidden from those who truly seek Him (see Romans Ch 1). He reveals Himself to humble hearts willing to leave comfort behind and follow the light He provides.

Are you searching today? Maybe you feel far from God, or life has left you with more questions than answers. Take courage from the Magi. Keep seeking. Keep asking. The same God who guided travelers from the East still draws people to His Son.

When they finally found Jesus, they didn’t just observe — they fell down and worshiped. True seeking always leads to surrender and adoration of Jesus as the King!

Lord Jesus, stir in me a heart that seeks You like the wise men did. Help me follow the truth You place before me and respond with wholehearted worship. Amen.
