Daily devotion – God is never in a hurry!
God Is Never in a Hurry
We live in a world that is constantly rushing. There’s fast food, fast checkouts, express lanes, tap-and-pay convenience—and the list goes on. Life moves at such a pace that we rarely stop to think like we once did. Silence makes us uneasy. Stillness feels uncomfortable. And when nothing is happening, anxiety can begin to creep in.
Even on the roads, it seems everyone is in a hurry to get somewhere.
Yet in the midst of all this, one truth stands firm: God is never in a hurry.
Despite the fast pace of life, we are still faced with significant decisions—what school to choose, what career to pursue, what direction to take, who to marry, where to live. The pressure to decide quickly can feel overwhelming.
But Scripture reminds us that while the world rushes ahead, God is sovereign and untroubled.
Psalm 2 paints a powerful picture of two perspectives—the chaos of earth and the calm authority of heaven:
“Why do the nations rage,
And the people plot a vain thing?
The kings of the earth set themselves,
And the rulers take counsel together,
Against the LORD and against His Anointed…
He who sits in the heavens shall laugh;
The Lord shall hold them in derision.”
While the world strives, plots, and hurries, God sits enthroned—unshaken, unhurried, and fully in control.
So how should we live in such a hurried and chaotic world?
With patience and trust in the Lord.
We are called to bring every decision before Him and wait for His direction. It sounds simple, but it requires faith.
James 1:2–8 reminds us:
“Count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience… If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God… But let him ask in faith, with no doubting…”
Patience is not passive—it is an active trust in God’s timing and wisdom.
If you feel pressured to make a quick decision, take a step back. Do not allow urgency from others to override dependence on the Lord. Rushed decisions often lead to regret, while Spirit-led decisions bring peace.
Impatience can reveal a lack of faith—but waiting on God strengthens it.
Trust that God will work things out. That is His responsibility. And His decisions for your life are always right.
Wait on Him. Trust Him. He is never late.
