World Powers Against God’s Kingdom We have seen over the last few weeks President Donald Trump visit China, and then Russia’s President Vladimir Putin also making significant diplomatic moves. A strange coincidence perhaps? Behind the governments and powers of this world there is a far greater spiritual battle taking place. The Bible reminds us that there are unseen spiritual forces influencing and directing the affairs of nations, including our own Australian government.
The question is — what are the leaders of this world ultimately moving toward, and what are these dark spiritual forces seeking to accomplish? The Psalmist gives us tremendous insight:
Psalm 2:1–3 “Why do the nations rage, And the people plot a vain thing? The kings of the earth set themselves,
And the rulers take counsel together, Against the LORD and against His Anointed, saying, ‘Let us break Their bonds in pieces
And cast away Their cords from us.’” The aim of dark spiritual opposition has always been to resist God, oppose His kingdom, and reject His authority. Satan seeks to hinder the plans of God and blind the hearts of men from the truth of Jesus Christ. The nations may appear powerful, governments may rise and fall, alliances may form, and world leaders may make their plans — yet none of it takes Heaven by surprise. Should we as Christians be fearful? Absolutely not. The Psalmist then lifts our eyes from earth to Heaven: Psalm 2:4–5 “He who sits in the heavens shall laugh; The Lord shall hold them in derision. Then He shall speak to them in His wrath, And distress them in His deep displeasure.” God is not nervous about the plans of men. He is still on the throne. His kingdom is not threatened, His purposes cannot fail, and Jesus Christ will reign forever. Psalm 2:10–11 says: “Now therefore, be wise, O kings; Be instructed, you judges of the earth. Serve the LORD with fear, And rejoice with trembling.” Am I saying that every government or politician is evil? No. God has established governing authorities for order in society. But whenever leaders, nations, or systems deliberately oppose God’s truth and seek to cast aside His authority, they place themselves in direct opposition to Heaven itself. Nations such as China, Russia, Turkey, and Iran should be watched carefully in light of Bible prophecy and the increasing movement toward global unrest and spiritual deception. Yet our focus should not be fear, panic, or endless speculation. Our focus must remain upon Jesus Christ. As believers, we are called to live with discernment, prayer, and peace, knowing that God rules over the nations and that His kingdom will surely come. Isaiah 40:23–24 reminds us: “He brings the princes to nothing; He makes the judges of the earth useless… Scarcely shall they be planted, Scarcely shall they be sown… When He will also blow on them,
And they will wither.” One day every kingdom of man will pass away, but the kingdom of Jesus Christ will stand forever. So let us not fear the shaking of this world. Let us continue serving the Lord faithfully, preaching the Gospel boldly, and living with the peace of God in our hearts, knowing that our King is coming soon.

Helen’s heart
Jhn 15:4 “Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me.” The word abides means a permanence of position, it’s a daily lifestyle. Psalm 145 says, “Everyday I will bless You”, implying a regular continuous commitment. This instant fast paced ‘now’ world is not compatible with steadiness of a daily walk with Jesus. “O Lord renew a stedfast spirit within me” Psalm 51:10
