CALVARY MEN — A GREAT NIGHT OF FELLOWSHIP!
Last Friday, the Calvary Men had a wonderful time together enjoying fellowship, good food, and the teaching of the Word of God.
It was another great opportunity to continue building godly relationships that encourage us to become more like Christ and to support one another in times of need.
In spite of the stormy weather, a great number of men put Christ first and came along—and we were truly blessed by our time together!
PRAY FOR OUR COMMUNITY
The upcoming by-election in Secret Harbour is certainly putting our community in the news.
Here at CCSH, we simply encourage everyone who has the opportunity to vote to use their vote wisely and to seek God’s wisdom and direction regarding who they should support at this time.
But, as Christ’s Church, let us do more than simply vote—let us pray!
Let us pray that God’s will would be carried out, not only on polling day, but each and every day here in our community.
“If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.”

As we journey through our studies in Exodus, we encourage you to be reading the book of Leviticus and the letter to the Ephesians.
There are some wonderful connections between these books and what we are discovering in Exodus. As we read the Scriptures together, we begin to see more clearly the amazing consistency of God’s Word and His unfolding plan for His people.
Come prepared, come expectant, and come ready to grow!

From the Pastor’s Pen
What an amazing thing it is to know Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour! I am constantly overwhelmed by the grace and goodness of God. I know that I do not deserve His kindness, yet His mercy, love and faithfulness are continually present as I walk through this life with Him. The apostle Paul reminds us:
“But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ.” — Ephesians 2:4–5
What an incredible salvation we have received! We were not saved because we deserved it, but because God is gracious. We are sinners saved by the precious blood of Christ, redeemed through His suffering and sacrifice, and given new life because of His glorious resurrection. Paul declared: “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes.” — Romans 1:16
May we never be ashamed to tell others about Jesus Christ and how precious our relationship with Him is.
It is interesting how easily we talk about the things we enjoy. If we purchase something exciting, we tell others about it. If we have enjoyed a wonderful experience, we share the story. When our favourite sporting team wins, we celebrate, take photographs and tell everyone about it. We have no difficulty expressing our excitement over things that bring us temporary joy. Yet, as Australians, we can sometimes be remarkably restrained when it comes to speaking about our relationship with Jesus Christ. Why should we be more excited about the things of this world than we are about the One who created us, saved us and gives us eternal life? Jesus said: “Therefore whoever confesses Me before men, him I will also confess before My Father who is in heaven.”
— Matthew 10:32 We have so much to proclaim! Jesus Christ died for our sins. He rose again from the grave. He has forgiven us. He has given us eternal life. He hears and answers our prayers. He walks with us through our trials. He guides us, strengthens us and gives us hope. And He has promised that He will come again for us! Jesus said: “I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.”
— John 14:3 How could we possibly keep such wonderful news to ourselves? Let us become childlike in our proclamation of the goodness of God. Children are often wonderfully unrestrained when they discover something exciting. They want everyone to know! And when we gather together as the body of Christ, with our brothers and sisters in the Lord, may our conversations be more than simply chit-chat about the things of this world. Let us talk about Jesus. Let us share what God is doing in our lives. Let us rejoice with one another. Let us encourage one another. Let us pray together and seek God together. Paul exhorted the believers: “Speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord.” — Ephesians 5:19 And Hebrews tells us: “And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together.” — Hebrews 10:24–25 What a privilege it is to belong to the family of God! We have been rescued from darkness and brought into the light. We have been forgiven, adopted and given a living hope through Jesus Christ. We have a Saviour who loves us, a Father who cares for us, a Spirit who dwells within us, a family of believers to walk with us, and the promise of eternity with Him. And whenever God gives us the opportunity, let us joyfully and unashamedly proclaim the wonderful name of Jesus Christ. “Oh, give thanks to the LORD, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever.” — Psalm 107:1
Helen’s heart – calvary women
Blessed are those who walk in the light of your presence, Lord – Psalm 89:15b We know our God is all powerful (verses 9-13 of Psalm 89 declare this) and He is perfectly righteous (v14) and yet God allows suffering in our lives. Our finite minds cannot comprehend God’s reasoning in this. It is when we realise our infinite God is a God of comfort, He is all powerful and nothing is out of His control, then we can accept He knows the end of our calamity. Eventually everything will work out for good. We can acclaim with Joseph, God meant it for good, in order to… save many people.” Gen 50:20 Lord help me to accept your goodness and control of things so I can rest and not be anxious, Amen.
