From the Pastor’s desk –
Spiritual Maturity: “To mature manhood.” Revival breaks out when lost people are born again. The fires of revival cool off when the born-again do not grow up. What is mature manhood? 1 Corinthians 13:11 says, “When I was a child, I spoke like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I gave up childish ways.” The Lord wants his church to give up childish ways. Colossians 1:28 says: “Him we proclaim, warning everyone and teaching everyone with all wisdom, that we may present everyone mature in Christ.” Ephesians 4:14–15 “That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro… But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ.” One of the great tragedies in the modern Church is the spiritual power that remains unused because we have drifted away from our God-given calling and mission. Instead of growing and maturing in Christ, we can become distracted by the world and behave like spoilt, immature children. Think of the prodigal son in Luke 15:17: “And when he came to himself…” What a turning point! He recognised his foolishness and began the journey home to his father. How often we, too, need to come to our senses! God has not saved us simply to occupy a seat in church, but to grow in His Word, serve Him faithfully, and reach others with the Gospel. Spiritual maturity is not measured by how long we have been Christians, but by how faithfully we live out what God has taught us. When a mature Christian stands firm in faith, responds with grace, serves humbly, and speaks the truth in love, the world sees something different—and God is glorified! Where are you in your walk with God today? Are you growing in Christ, or have you become comfortable where you are? Let us put aside childish attitudes, surrender our selfish ambitions, and wholeheartedly embrace the calling God has placed upon our lives. The world does not need a Church that reflects its immaturity; it needs a Church that reflects the character of Jesus Christ!
