Israel Trip — January 2027
Our Israel Trip is still several months away, with the tour planned for January 2027. We remain in regular contact with our guide, Yaniv, who will continue to provide ongoing updates from Jerusalem regarding the latest news from the Holy Land and, most importantly, as we prayerfully seek the Lord’s will concerning the trip.
Please continue to pray for Israel, Jerusalem, and for God’s direction regarding our upcoming tour.
Earthquakes — A Sign of the Times?
Have you noticed the increase in reports of earthquakes around the world recently? Turkey, Japan, China, Colombia, and now Indonesia have all experienced significant earthquakes.
Jesus warned us that earthquakes would be among the signs preceding His return:
Matthew 24:7 — “For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places.”
As believers, we are not to live in fear, but with watchfulness and expectation. These events remind us that God’s Word is true and that we should be ready for the Lord’s return.

A Church That Prays Before the Crisis
Last Wednesday evening, Pastor Nathanael led us in prayer, and we prayed specifically for CCSH to see our midweek prayer meeting filled to capacity—that God would move upon us as a church and awaken us to the urgency of the days in which we are living.
We prayed that we would seize this moment to intercede for Australia, our nation, and for our loved ones who do not yet know Christ as their Lord and Saviour.
As we prayed, I was reminded of Jesus’ words from the Olivet Discourse:
Matthew 24:22 — “And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect’s sake those days shall be shortened.”
Jesus was speaking specifically about the coming seven-year Tribulation, but we also know that the days leading toward that period will be marked by increasing turmoil—geographical, political, moral and spiritual—events that will shake this world and those living in it.
I believe our prayer for a church prayer meeting filled to capacity will come to pass. But I wonder: will people only come because circumstances have become so frightening and desperate that they finally realise they need God?
When times of great urgency and crisis come, we often don’t need anyone to tell us to pray—we pray because we are desperate and looking to God for help.
My prayer is that CCSH will not have to wait until desperate times before we become a praying church.
May we pray now because we desire to see God’s will and purpose accomplished in our lives, our church, our nation, and in the lives of those who are presently lost and heading toward judgment and eternal separation from God.
Last Friday night, I also had the privilege of spending time with our Calvary Youth, and it was a great blessing to hear these young men and women seriously discussing the Scriptures and sharing how God’s Word is speaking to their hearts.
What an encouragement to see young people engaging with God’s Word!
Calvary Youth will meet again on the 28th, with some fun activities planned alongside the continued study of Scripture. As the warmer weather arrives, there will also be opportunities for some outdoor activities.
Church, let us not wait for desperate times to become desperate for God. Let us seek Him now, pray now, and intercede now—because the days are urgent, the harvest is plentiful, and Jesus is coming again.
Helen’s heart – calvary women
Proverbs 25:11 A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in bowls of silver.
I have vivid memories of visiting my mother in hospital, her reaching out and holding my hand and asking, “Now tell me about your day.” Now many years from her going to be with the Lord, I am still warmed by that encouraging look and caring interest.
We all need encouragement and nurturing to reach our full potential. Often our heart yearns for just one word of love – we can disguise this need by being less than genial, but a discerning person can see through our disguise and give that ‘good word to make our heart glad.’ Proverbs 12:25 Be conscious of your words this week and choose to administer “life” to the hearer – Proverbs 18:21.
