Belong to the Greater Family
(Inspired by Matthew 12:46–50)
While Jesus is still speaking, someone tells Him His mother and brothers are outside wanting to talk. He replies, “Who is My mother and who are My brothers?” Then He stretches out His hand toward His disciples: “Here are My mother and My brothers! For whoever does the will of My Father in heaven is My brother and sister and mother.”
This is not rejection of Mary or His earthly family. It is a stunning redefinition of belonging. Bloodline was never going to be the thing that matters most. Physical pedigree cannot secure a place in God’s family. Trusting the Son and doing the Father’s will does.
If you have trusted Christ, you are not on the outer, hoping to get close enough one day. You are already family, and not even a distant cousin — you are called brother, sister, mother by the Son Himself.
Is belonging to Him your deepest identity? Is He greater than family expectations, cultural background, reputation, or the tribe you’ve built for yourself?
Live out today as family. Know that you are held by a Brother who is greater than everything you will face.

He is supreme. So here’s the revelation that started this whole series: because He is greater than whatever you’ve been treating as greater, surrender and belong to Him above all else.
