Let us learn from Jesus

Calvary Chapel Secret Harbour   -

Mat 11:29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart:
There is something absolutely beautiful about a believer who has taken Jesus command to learn of Me,  how to be meek and lowly in heart, seriously.
This is the Christian who is like heaven to have around. They are respectful, honouring of others, never driven by self, always gentle and are actively seeking to build others up in the Lord. How rare is such a person?
Sadly, to the point some times that when we come across a believer like this we are taken back, because we are so used to the opposite style of living in the world we live.
How does one become such a person? How does one live in such a powerful godly manner that is genuine and truly honouring to God?
This type of person, when you meet them, you can be assured of one thing! They have and do spend a great deal of time with Jesus. Why do I say this?
Because Jesus Himself tells us this is how we become like Him. We come to Him and we spend time with Him and in this way, we learn from Him! Haven’t you ever noticed when your have been around someone that you admire, think highly of, or would desire to live like, that people begin to copy their every way. People in the world do this, they would call it fashionable, some would call it mentoring, many would call it idolizing.
But this is not what the Bible speaks of. No, for the believer, it is worship, it is discipleship, or devotion, it is the very passion and drive we receive when we desire to live daily in the love and presence of God. The one who first loved us.
Jesus calls all of us to come unto Him, and to learn of Him, and this will result in us falling to our knees like Isaiah did, like Peter did, for when we do this, we see ourselves for who we really are when we see Jesus for who He really is – for He is Holy!
This week, my prayer for you is to begin to spend more time with Jesus, not necessarily by locking yourself away, but by being mindful of Him in every moment of your day. See Him in everything around you. Open your eyes to His blessing that now exists in your life. When you walk know He is walking with you. He is always with you! Learn of Him!
As you do this you will become more like Him…..and less like the person you used to be. As we learn of Him we change by His grace, we too begin to live a life that is meek and lowly in heart!
It is heaven on earth!
