The Temple Mount …the holiest of holies
Today we had the ultimate experience as we finally made it to the Temple Mount…there we stood where the new Temple will be built after Daniels prophecy concerning the anti-Christ making an agreement with Israel at the beginning of the Great Tribulation.
The anti-Christ remember comes to the for as the first rider in Rev 6 coming on a white horse bringing a false peace to the middle east conflict – how…he will arrange for the agreement between Israel and the Muslim nations , a peace accord that will allow the Dome of the Rock and the New Temple to both exist on the Temple Mount…but this is the beginning of sorrows…as explained in revelation chapter 11….
The New Temple
In the Institute of Temple Treasures in Jerusalem today you can view the preparations for the temple that will be built by the Jews in the period known as the Great Tribulation.
In fact, 60% of all instruments needed for the Temple worship, according to the OT regulations are completed and 2 yeshivas, or schools, are training young men with the last name Cohen – Cohen meaning ‘priest’ – to sacrifice animals in the Temple tradition.
Why?
Because the Orthodox Jewish community understands that without the shedding of blood there is no remission of sin. Leviticus 17:11 – Hebrews 9:22.
Since they do not accept Jesus as their Messiah, as the One Who died for their sins, they realize they must make sacrifices for the forgiveness of sins.
But you are saying, Keith how in the world can Israel build their Temple let alone commence the OT sacrifice offerings with all the problems, specifically every Muslim in the world who would enter a JIHAD if Israel attempted to build where the Dome of the Rock mosque is?
Mosque of Omar was built in the late 600’s on the 35 acre site over the rock believed to be the location of the place where the Holy of Holies existed.
Therefore the building of a Temple there would be impossible.
However, 20 years ago after spending 16 years studying the Temple Mount area, a physicist and archaeologist at Hebrew University named Dr Asher Kauffman published that whilst the Mosque of Omar has been assumed to sit on the site of the Holy of Holies, the true location is in fact a spot 100 metres north.
What is 100 meters north of the Dome of the Rock?
A small gazebo-like structure which is the only place the original bedrock of the Temple is exposed. And it is dead flat not like the jagged rock in the Dome of the Rock.
A perfect place for the Ark of the Covenant to be placed.
In addition, when the Muslims built the gazebo like structure in 6 A.D. they gave it two names. The Dome of the Spirit and the Dome of the Tablets – even the Islam recognized this site as the spot where tablets – the 10 commandments within the Ark of the Covenant, and the Spirit – the Shekinah, the glory of God over the Ark of the Covenant had been!
During the Six Day War of 1967, the Israelis launched a preemptive strike against the Arabs and recaptured the city of Jerusalem. General Moshe Dayan could have easily booted the Muslims off the Temple Mount at this point.
But he didn’t.
In a gesture, which he himself never fully explained, he let them retain control of the 35 acre parcel.
The outer court of the Temple, built in the correct place as according to Dr Kauffman has been…given to the Gentiles…to this day!
