Made in His image
God has made us in a way that is simply amazing. He has given us these amazing senses and emotions.
We can experience exhilaration, sorrow, grief and joy. We are truly fragile beings living in a fallen world. But these amazing emotions we can not only experience when we suffer hurt or pain to our own selves but we I believe feel far greater ranges of such emotions when those we love are suffering, injured, are hurting or in pain.
The Bible declares that we are indeed made in the image of God – Gen 1:27 So God created man in His [own] image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.
One of our little grandchildren this week had an accident and I was away from Helen and the family on the other side of the country on business. When Helen called me and told me one of our little grandchildren had been hurt my heart was overwhelmed and I called unto God for this little one and the rest of our family.
I prayed and prayed and prayed. But I wished I was home!
Thank the Lord everything was fine and God was amazing and our little grandchild is ok.
But, as I travelled back by plane on my way home, my mind was reflecting on our Heavenly Father who watches over us and loves us.
For the Bible tells me our God weeps over His children. Our Heavenly Father sorrows over us. What an amazing God we have! Jhn 11:33 Therefore, when Jesus saw her weeping, and the Jews who came with her weeping, He groaned in the spirit and was troubled.
May you know that if you are suffering or indeed hurting for another, that your heavenly Father is with you and your loved ones.
He is such a loving God who weeps for us, His very own when we hurt!
