Losing the Battle?

Calvary Chapel Secret Harbour   -

Easter is over, in Australia Easter was mainly about the long break, the opportunity to have a holiday. Our TV stations did little to support the real meaning of Easter, where in times past, a number of movies would be on from the beginning of Good Friday right through to Easter Sunday – The Bible, The Ten Commandments, Moses, King of Kings…..
Do you ever feel the church is losing the battle? That Christianity is just becoming some distant relic of belief from a bygone era?
The world certainly lives in that mode, shifting its axis with each year further away from the Son of God, from the very wonderment of Who Jesus Christ was and is.
There was a time when the Apostle Paul was in the very pit of despair, when it seemed as if the news of Jesus Christ to the ears of the people just seemed to be like whistling into the wind…
May you and I find great comfort and solace in the very fact that no matter the darkness of the hour, the hardness of the soil, the deafness of the ears, the callousness of the hearts, God is still working on people’s hearts – amazingly!
Paul is in Corinth and the Jewish community there was furious at Paul’s ministry and it became extremely difficult and dangerous for Paul. Possibly Paul had been thinking about giving it away, leaving Corinth when the Lord cam to him and gave him the assurance he desperately needed…Be not afraid, but speak, and hold not your peace: For I am with thee, and no man shall set on thee to hurt thee:….But then God who has been working behind the scenes so beautifully and powerfully as He always is says…for I have much people in this city…Acts 18:9-10.
Paul was not only encouraged by the presence of the Lord but by His promises! May we too tonight as we regroup, reset, prepare again, to share Christ’s grace and love with those around us who have not yet known the blessing of receiving God’s forgiveness and knowing His love for them!
You and I do not know who God’s elect are, but we are to take His Gospel to every creature and let God do the rest!
Be encouraged….God has much people in your city!
