Lord…Thy will be done….!
Do you live a life in fear of what the future holds? Do you struggle to make good decisions now after having made some bad decisions that have had a considerable impact upon your life?
Let us a learn a lesson from Abraham, the father of our faith – Rom 4:17 (as it is written, “I have made you a father of many nations” in the presence of Him whom he believed–God, who gives life to the dead and calls those things which do not exist as though they did;
Remember Abraham was called by God to travel to a country and location that God did not actually reveal to him. God just called Abraham to go and Abraham did.
Abraham left the future of his life in the hands of God, and God was leading him and did lead him!
You and I have no idea of what the future holds, just what is the future only God knows.
Therefore is it not therefore prudent and logical to surrender our will to follow God’s will?
Because I do not know what the future holds, I cannot choose for myself and it so much better to surrender my will to God’s.
There was a time however when Abraham decided to follow his own will, make his own decisions. He headed down to Egypt and all he got was lies and trouble.
Sadly too, we hear of no alter of worship being built by Abraham during his entire sojourn in Egypt. This is so often the end result of taking our future into our own hands….we end up moving away from God, drifting from worship and sadly living like everyone one else in the world.
If you are tired of making the wrong decisions, of heading in the wrong direction, let us follow Abraham’s godly example, and give your future to the One who knows it!
May God guide your steps, may you allow Him to be your Good Shepherd – it is such a better way to live!
There cannot be two wills, there must only be one and that is God’s.
Mat 6:10 Your kingdom come. Your will be done On earth as [it is] in heaven.
