The Trouble with Truth….

Calvary Chapel Secret Harbour   -

In the Apostle Paul’s amazing definition of what love is in 1 Corinthians 13 verse 6, he says  (love)….does not rejoice in iniquity but rejoices in the truth….

Have you ever had some one tell lies about you? Ever had someone pretend to be a certain way with you but you discover that this is not the case at all? Truth is an amazing word with a phenomenal scope of coverage.

Jesus Christ our Lord said He was the embodiment of Truth…I am the way and the truth…The Psalmist says that all the paths of the Lord are mercy and truth…Psalm 25:10. It was Pontius Pilate who asked Jesus, after Jesus had been savagely beaten, What is truth…? John 18:38.

But truth spoken without love is brutal and likened to resetting a broken bone without care or kindness.

This is why the Apostle Paul also taught us, Col 4:6   Let your speech [be] always with grace, seasoned with salt,…KJV

King Solomon taught us the beauty and power of words of truth when spoken in grace, Pro 25:11 A word fitly spoken [is like] apples of gold in pictures of silver.

Each day make it a prayer to ask for God’s help and wisdom to always speak the truth with words that are wrapped in God’s grace and love. To His glory!
