Removing Roadblocks in Prayer…

Calvary Chapel Secret Harbour   -

On Wednesday evenings the Body of Christ here at  Calvary Chapel Secret Harbour gathers to do its most important work of prayer. Heaven’s throne is open and God’s ear is attentive as God’s people call on God’s power and His strength.
As I do each week I read God’s Word before I pray and seek His face. This Wednesday I read Daniel’s prayer found in chapter 9, and I like to read it aloud to myself, and as I did I was moved by the honesty and humility of Daniel’s prayer.
Daniel was teaching me how to pray…and he truly was a man of great prayer!
Let me give you Daniel’s lesson that I received; Daniel in verse 3 was serious about his prayer with the Lord, he set his face unto the Lord God, to seek by prayer and fasting, and sackcloth and ashes..Daniel taught me to pray with absolute serious intent enveloped in reverence and obeisance to Almighty God.
In verse 4 confession is made…And I prayed unto the Lord my God, and made my confession…
In verses 5, 8, 11, 15, 16 Daniel includes himself with his people Israel in sincere and heart cleansing confession of sin!
But beautifully throughout does Daniel speak in praise of the majesty, power, holiness and righteousness of Almighty God!
..O Lord the great and dreadful God…v4
O Lord righteousness belongs unto thee..v7
..To the Lord our God belong mercies and forgiveness..v9
…God is righteous in all His works..v14
Tonight as you pray, in the morning as you pray, may you follow Daniel’s glorious lesson of power praying, of ernest intent and absolute surrender and humility.
And God too will answer you as He did to Daniel’s amazing prayer…Yes while I was speaking in prayer, even the man Gabriel, whom I had seen in the earlier vision came swiftly to me at the time of the evening sacrifice…verse 21.
Daniel removed all the roadblocks that could hinder his prayer – let us all do the same and see God’s wonderful blessing in His answering our hearts cry we call prayer!
