What in the world is happening…..?

Hebrews 12:27 – This means that all of creation will be shaken and removed, so that only unshakable things will remain.
The writer of Hebrews tells us that there is coming a time when all that can be shaken will be shaken. In other words the frailty that this world and its system of living, apart from God, is about to collapse! We had the Global Financial Crisis  recently, we had the Tsunamis in Japan, the earthquakes in Christchurch and Europe economically, as is the USA, is buckling under a massive weight of debt. China, the nation which everyone has borrowed from during the GFC has indicated to the USA that it may call in its borrowings due to the ripples of economic unease coming out of Washington.
Where does all this leave you? The Bible throughout refers to Jesus Christ as the Rock, with a capital “R”. This is an indication that God’s foundation is sure and shall never crumble. Examine your life at this moment in time and ask yourself if there are any signs of fissures or cracks in the foundation your life now rests on. I love the ocean and I enjoy going to sea but when I step back on terra firma there is a real sense of security once again under my feet.
The things that CANNOT be shaken are those that God has made available to us through the death and resurrection of His Son Jesus Christ. Things such as His love – nothing shall separate us from the love of God – His forgiveness, His grace, His joy, His peace, His presence , His mercy and on and on….
None of these can ever be shaken. Tonight, today, step off a sinking world and place your feet on a foundation that is sure and solid. Ask Jesus Christ to be your Lord and Saviour and then you shall find rest for your soul! This is a peace that passes all understanding! How do you do this? 1. Confess you are a sinner and ask for God’s forgiveness. 2 Accept that Jesus Christ died on the cross and paid the penalty and debt your sins owed and demanded. 3 Accept God’s forgiveness and allow His grace to fill your life and believe it’s a done deal! Now rest on solid ground!
