Worship is adoration..!

Calvary Chapel Secret Harbour   -

Worship not only means presenting our whole lives and bodies to the Lord each day sacrificially but it also involves our adoration of God! Therefore by Him let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name – Heb 13:15.
When praising God, giving Him adoration, God is to have our full attention on Him and Him alone. It is so sad to have people in church during times of worship not giving God their full attention. King David put adoration of God so beautifully when he wrote, Bless the Lord, O my soul; and ALL that is within me, bless His holy name – Psalm 103:1
Whenever and wherever you are worshiping the Lord, the  Almighty God, Creator of heaven and earth, your Heavenly Father, we are to ensure we are giving Him our total attention, our absolute adoration. Let us not follow the sad example of today’s culture when you can be talking to someone, their phone rings and they cut you off and just begin speaking on their phone to the other person…worse still when the words are spoken to the usual initial question, “Are you doing anything important, have I got you at a bad time?” and they answer “No nothing important!”
Remember, our access to God’s very presence was achieved at great cost which prior to Jesus Christ’s death and resurrection, such access was only allowed once a year by one person, the high priest. I love the old Christmas song, “O come let us ADORE Him, Christ our Lord!”
