Prayer..does it matter?
“Thus says the LORD God of Israel: ‘Because you have prayed to Me against Sennacherib king of Assyria, I have heard.’ 2 Kings 19:20....
People often ask, does it really matter…this thing called prayer? God Himself answers that question most poignantly in this amazing verse. A time when King Hezekiah was fearful, facing a massive Assyrian army under a cruel leader called Sennacherib. Many Christians sadly today are non-prayers.
The least attended services at the majority of churches is the corporate prayer meeting. The church often seeking solution to its lack of effect and impact upon communities and individuals, creates a new program, a new catch phrase or researches the latest market ‘demographics’ of what the people consider popular or cool.
God does not work that way! He has from the beginning of man’s relationship with Him had prayer as the means of His working through our lives. The means of His power unleashed. Notice again the words…God said Himself to Hezekiah…BECAUSE YOU HAVE PRAYED! No man ever prayed more than our Lord Jesus Christ.
The disciples asked Jesus to teach them how to do ONE THING…”Lord teach us to pray!” It’s time to do things God’s way…
