and the sign says….no cash allowed!

Calvary Chapel Secret Harbour   -

Revelation 13: Then the statue of the beast commanded that anyone refusing to worship it must die. 16 He required everyone—small and great, rich and poor, free and slave—to be given a mark on the right hand or on the forehead. 17 And no one could buy or sell anything without that mark, which was either the name of the beast or the number representing his name. 18 Wisdom is needed here. Let the one with understanding solve the meaning of the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man. His number is 666.
In 1974, the first bankcards hit the streets in Australia. A few years earlier in the USA. Up to that time people were paid in cash and most transactions occurred either by cash or cheque.
Today, Helen and I went to a well known eatery for a coffee, which on entry had a sign up front in bold, stating that cash would not be accepted under any circumstances and all purchases must be by card.
I shared with the prayer team last Wednesday evening of a pensioner attending David Jones in Perth to purchase a birthday gift, a cap, for her grandson. She had the correct amount to pay in cash. She was refused the purchase transaction by the David Jones staff member and even after summoning the floor manager, her request to purchase by cash was disallowed.
She left the store with her daughter disappointed, cash still in hand, and no gift for her grandson’s birthday.
Whilst I understand the Covid 19 situation, the refusal of cash transactions, has grown immensely and looks to be a continuing process, even after lockdown’s are all lifted.
I bring you all this to highlight to you the speed, the ‘absolute’ actioning, the rapidity of us moving into a complete cashless society.
We as believers are not to panic nor are we to be surprised by this coming financial phenomenon, but we are certainly to take serious note of the swiftness of this shift that has occurred world-wide, as to how we carry out our living transactions.
It is a ‘heads up’ to each and every one of us that Jesus return is much closer than we think.
After the rapture of the church as promised by Jesus and detailed by Paul in 1 Thessalonians chapter 4, the antichrist will be revealed, and he will be the future world dictator.
Once in power, his control over the world financial markets, spending, and the ability and capacity to allow or disallow any financial transactions will be a massive controlling influence over every person on the planet. He will know everything about how you live, what you purchase and where your allegiances lay.
He will personally control the power of one’s ability to buy or sell and if one refuses to worship him, that is take his mark, they will have no capacity for any financial transaction whatsoever. Thus, many people sadly will simply sign over their lives to him in order to survive in his new world order.
For you and I today, Jesus tells us these are the signs we are to be watching for as we ready ourselves for Christ’s imminent return.
So, the sign’s saying “no cash” for every believer are more than just a sign about financial transactions, they are a sign telling us its sooner than we think!
