In Him, we have redemption through His blood – Ephesians 1:7

A loving mother who saved her daughter from a house fire suffered severe burns all over her arms and hands which, left graphic and deep scarring.

When this mother’s daughter grew into her teen years, unaware of just how her mother’s arms had incurred such injuries. She would always insist that her mother wear long gloves to cover up her hands’ severe condition and arms’ scarring anytime they ventured out publicly together.

One day, the daughter asked how her mother’s arms and hands got to be so damaged. Her mother revealed the whole story to her daughter for the first time, explaining how she had saved her daughter’s life but suffered such injuries.

When her daughter finally heard the story, she broke down and wept, and holding her mother’s hands, said, “Oh, Mother, these are beautiful hands, the most beautiful in the world. Please don’t ever hide them again!”

The blood of Jesus Christ may seem to be a grim, repulsive subject not to be discussed, unaware of how this same blood rescued so many from sins’ chains.

To us who have been redeemed and rescued from our sins, our Lord’s nailed pierced hands are beautiful beyond description, for they tell us of His great love and His willingness to save us regardless of the cost!
