Daily devotion – Tuesday 30th March 2021
After Palm Sunday morning’s service was over one our grandchildren came running up to us and repeated the memory verse they had just learned in Sunday school – Jhn 14:3
“And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.
It reminded me that during Jesus’ ministry on earth He had no permanent home. He even said, Mat 8:20 … “Foxes have holes and birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay His head.”
What a contrast to the home Jesus left in order to be with us – His heavenly home!
From all eternity His dwelling place had been filled with unspeakable glory and splendour. And yet, the Bible tells us, He “emptied Himself….being born in human likeness.” Philippians 2:7
But thankfully the story does not end there. Now Jesus has returned to Heaven – and soon we will join Him. Think of it. Jesus wants to share Heaven’s glory with us!
One evening a little girl was taking a walk with her father. Looking up at the stars she said, “Daddy, if the wrong side of heaven is this beautiful, how much more will the right side be like!”
