Pastor Keith   -

Psalm 75:1 We give thanks to You, O God, we give thanks! For Your wondrous works declare that Your name is near.

Most homes like our own have many family photographs throughout. Children and grandchildren photos certainly dominate the walls, and shelves, covering all the years of blessings and birthdays.

As I look at these photos, especially of our children when they were infants, now after years have passed, the illnesses, the storms and trials each one has travelled through to this day, I am again brought before God with heartfelt thanks and adoration of His love and grace.

He has truly been faithful!

For He has been with each of them from the moment their heart first beat to now. He has answered so many prayers that Helen and I brought before Him for each of them when we needed His power, love and especially His peace.

For every parent, every father and mother, we can rest in the knowledge that our Lord loves our children, our grandchildren even more than we do! Hard to comprehend but He does.

He has been with them from the very beginning, and He knew them before they were even formed in their mother’s womb.

Psalm 139 :…For You formed my inward parts;
You covered me in my mother’s womb.
14 I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
Marvelous are Your works,
And that my soul knows very well.
15 My frame was not hidden from You,
When I was made in secret,
And skillfully wrought in the lowest parts of the earth.
16 Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed.
And in Your book they all were written,
The days fashioned for me,
When as yet there were none of them.
17 How precious also are Your thoughts to me, O God!
How great is the sum of them!
18 If I should count them, they would be more in number than the sand;
When I awake, I am still with You.

Let us never forget the precious love of our Lord for our children. Let us give thanks and praise Him every day for all that He has done and continues to do.

The next time you take a glance at a family photo, take a moment to worship and praise the One who created them and loves them dearly – our heavenly Father!
