Repent therefore and be converted – Acts 3:19
When you become a Christian, it is a once-for-all happening, in which we repent of our sins and turn our lives to Jesus Christ alone for our salvation. When we are converted, God takes us “out of darkness into His marvellous light” – 1 Peter 2:9
But LIVING the Christian life is a daily, ongoing experience. It is a lifelong process of daily repentance and faith, turning from sin and seeking to live for Jesus Christ, in the power of the Holy Spirit.
Here is where the battle ground is. For although we have been converted and God has become alive in us, our old nature is still alive and kicking! Our stubborn will still demands to place itself ahead of God.
It is not easy to reign our stubborn will into submission to Christ, but when we do, it is as if a misplaced bone has snapped back into its right position. Instead of the stress and tension of a life out of harmony with God, we discover the serenity of His presence!
Who controls your life? Is it Jesus Christ or…..you?
