Guilt is a very powerful force – Websters dictionary defines guilt as – “responsibility for having done something wrong and especially something against the law He admitted his guilt – a feeling of shame or regret as a result of bad conduct.”
One of the most frustrating and difficult things in life is that one cannot turn back the clock and change something of which we feel shame and guilt for.
When we make a wrong decision or act foolishly, we must live with the consequences of such actions. As bitter as they may be – in Biblical terms we must reap what we have sown.
Some say, why then should we bother to ask for God’s forgiveness for such? One reason is because it is the only way to deal with our guilt!
Deep down inside us we feel unclean and shamed for what we have done – but when we turn this over to Jesus Christ and seek His forgiveness, that burden of guilt He lifts from us.
Such is the power of Christ’s cross.
Today if you are burdened by such a weight, turn to Jesus Christ, seek His forgiveness, and let the God of mercy bring relief and forgiveness to your soul. Only He can do this!
“Do not be deceived….a man reaps what he sows.” – Galatians 6:7
