Daily devotion – 2nd September 2021

Pastor Keith   -

Exodus 36:1 “…every gifted artisan in whom the LORD has put wisdom and understanding, to know how to do all manner of work for the service of the sanctuary, shall do according to all that the LORD has commanded.”

Due to our world sadly often being celebrity driven – Hollywood stars often sprucing their political and often immoral stances – the ordinary ‘Joe” in the street tends to downplay their value and work.

People will say, “I’m only a housewife….I’m just a clerk….I’m just a tradie…” – If God gave you that skill, and you are where He wants you to be, then your work is valuable and significant in His sight.

One other thought for you to ponder: What kind of a carpenter do you suppose Jesus was? Did the tables that He built collapse? Do you suppose He took shortcuts, or did just barely enough to get by?

No, of course not. The Bible says, Col 3:23 – “And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men,”

Your work is important, no matter what it is. Work this week to the glory of God and knowing it gives Him pleasure enjoy your work immensely!
