This Week at CCSH –
A blessed Father’s Day today to all the dad’s, grandad’s, and stepdads! Father’s, when asked to pick up some needed things from the supermarket always end up going in with no carry bag. Thus, they do a juggling act trying to carry all those small items out of the store to the car with no bag. So, today father’s we have an AFL carry bag for you for those very times when you get caught short. You can choose one in your own team and never be without that essential shopping bag from today on – happy Father’s Day from CCSH. Ladies, this Tuesday we have a Bible study and fellowship set aside just for you. Don’t miss this time of gathering with other godly women. Winter is over and we are now in spring with summer coming. It’s time to prepare for our summer Baptism service when the weather eventually warms up. In the meantime, we will be offering a class on water baptism to answer any questions you may have about being baptized. See Sheldon Loader to sign up for this class so you can prepare to be baptized. Sheldon will be at the information desk today after the morning service. Just a reminder no evening service tonight due to Father’s Day!
From the Pastor’s Desk – God has given each of us the freedom of choice. Think of all the people Jesus dealt with during His ministry. Some were society’s rejects – the woman caught in adultery, lepers, despised Samaritans, the criminals on the Cross. Others were powerful and sophisticated – like Nicodemus, Pilate, the Pharisees. They covered the whole social spectrum – but they all had a choice, and they all needed a Saviour; they were all headed toward death and eternity; they all were the objects of His love. But not everyone responded to Jesus as He tried to help them back from the brink of destruction. Sadly, not everyone we share the Gospel with will either. But that did not keep Jesus from trying – nor must it us. James 5:20 remember this: Whoever turns a sinner from the error of their way will save them from death and cover over a multitude of sins.
Quote of the Week – “Your afflictions may only prove that you are more immediately under the Father’s hand. There is no time that the patient is such an object of tender interest to the surgeon, as when he is bleeding beneath his knife. So you may be sure if you are suffering from the hand of a reconciled God, that His eye is all the more bent on you.” – Robert Murray M’Cheyne
Grace Giving – We have a container at the left rear of the chapel for your grace-giving, or you can give electronically via the following information. CCSH Account number: 2490144 & BSB: 306089. Our greatest encouragement for giving is that it pleases the Lord. Let us worship Him as we give and remember that God was unsparing in His giving Proverbs 3:9 Honor the LORD with your wealth and with the best part of everything you produce. 10 Then he will fill your barns with grain, and your vats will overflow with good wine..
