Daily devotion – If My people….would pray…!

Pastor Keith   -

The missing key to the modern church of today is – PRAYER!

The Bible tells us – “If My people…will….pray and seek My face,….I will hear from Heaven!” – 2 Chron 7:14

You can’t be forced to pray – you never should feel you have to pray as a duty – no, prayer is to a believer is as breathing is to life!

It should be natural, continual, and part of our everyday being as a follower of Jesus Christ!

From one end of the Bible to the other, there is an ongoing record of those whose prayers were answered by Almighty God. Ordinary men and women, who turned the tide of history by prayer, who passionately and fervently prayed, and God answered each one of them.

Elijah prayed – God sent fire from Heaven to consume the offering he had prepared as he battled the prophets of Baal alone on Mount Carmel.

Elisha prayed – and the only son of the Shunammite widow was raised from the dead.

Hannah prayed – and God gave her a son, Samuel, who would be a blessed prophet to God’s people Israel for decades.

Paul prayed – and dozens of Churches were birthed in Asia Minor and Europe.

Peter prayed – and Dorcas was raised to life, to have added years of service for Jesus Christ.

Their prayers were the natural outflow of their love for God and their passionate faith in Him. Their prayers were part of a greater work: godly lives lived for God’s glory.

As the 17th Century theologian, John Owen, said, “He who prays as he ought, will endeavour to live as he prays.”

Today, can we put you name down – (________) prayed – and God ………..!

But that statement about you can only be written if you pray!
