Daily devotion – Actions speaking our sacrifice
“Present your bodies a living sacrifice…And be not conformed to this world” – Romans 12:1-2
The start of a new week gives us the opportunity to present ourselves to the Lord for Him to use us as He desires. For Him to lead our lives to those we can bring His grace and blessing to as we walk in obedience with Christ.
People are unable to see your thoughts and emotions, your dreams and motives. Or our commitment to Christ. All they see is our body and they will judge what is on the inside by what they see happening on the outside.
Paul tells us to “present our bodies a living sacrifice.” Why? Because the way we use our bodies will signal to others what we really are on the inside. We may claim to be followers of Christ but if our actions tell a different story, people rightly can question our claim.
All our actions should honour God.
This week, as you present yourself to be used and led by God, let us ensure that our obedience and our actions reveal this in all that we do.
We are to be “blameless and pure, children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked ad depraved generation” Philippians 2:15
