Pastor Keith   -

What is it that you are passionate about? What constantly is in your thoughts? What are you are absorbed with and desire to know about?

You read and study it? Not sure?

The Psalmist wrote in Psalm 42:2 what was his heart’s passion, “My soul thirsts for God, for the living God.”

To say that your passion is God to someone today would certainly sound strange to most people. We live in an age that is preoccupied with the things of this world – and basically how they relate to us. To most people you talk to today it seems as if God is almost irrelevant.

But the writer of this psalm had discovered what most people realize sooner or later – even though most would probably not admit it – that the things of this world can never satisfy the longings, the ache of our inner most being, our souls.

Only God can meet your deepest yearnings. As St Augustine said centuries ago, “You have made us for Yourself, O God, and our hearts are restless until they find their rest in You!”

Ask yourself today, what things are choking your yearning for God in your own life? Do not let anything – or anyone – come between you and your Creator. The prophet Isaiah wrote, “Why do you spend money for what is not bread, and your wages for what does not satisfy?” – Isaiah 55:2

Today, God wants you to know Him in an intimate and personal way, and He has made this possible through His Son Jesus Christ.

God loves you, and He will give you, His peace. It’s time for you to enjoy the very purpose you were created!
