Daily devotion – Christmas Rush

Pastor Keith   -

We enter the last few days before Christmas, the days of rushing, cap parks full, not so happy shoppers, as the time to have all things bought, prepared, exchanged, finished, draws to closing before Christmas Day.

For many, time has gotten away from them, for some time has wriggled out of their control and continues to be unable to be brought into check. Forgotten gifts, missed Christmas card sending,  online orders and gifts that will not make Christmas Day! We are running out of time!

Galatians 4:4 But when the right time came, God sent his Son, born of a woman, subject to the law.

God is never in a hurry nor is He ever late, and He is never short of time. His timing is always – perfect!

When the Child Jesus was born in Bethlehem, the timing for His entrance into our world was absolutely perfect.

We often get anxious and upset when God seems to not be doing things we want Him to do when we want Him to do them!

When I surrendered my life to Jesus Christ, one of the greatest blessings God gave me was to know that God is never late or early with His timing. It was now for me to step back and trust in faith that God indeed had everything in control. That He knew exactly when to do things and when not to do things.

Ecc 3:1 “To everything there is a season, A time for every purpose under heaven.”

If you are finding yourself caught up in the whirlpool of rushing and thinking you are short of time, today in the season of Christmas, is the right time to give over to God all those things that seem to be falling through your hands.

When we place our concerns and our plans in God’s hands, we take our hands off being in control and finally find rest and peace, knowing that God’s timing on the matter will be prefect.

Do this and you won’t collapse at Christmas in a heap as if you have just run your first marathon. That’s not the witness God wants us to share. He wants us to be people of peace and at peace, with the knowledge that God has everything in hand – His hands! That we trust in Him implicitly.
